Japanese

Welcome to nezumi doshi, The Year of the Rat!
Although it did not originate in Japan, the Oriental zodiac and the 12 animals that represent it have been embraced by the Japanese since around the 4th century. Often referred to as “Chinese New Year” it is now more commonly referred to as “Lunar New Year” to better reflect the many ethnic communities that celebrate it – it’s not just in China!
When people are born they are said to inherit some of the personalities of that year's animal. Those in a RAT year are said to be charming, smart, ambitious and hard-working. They have a tremendous capacity for pursing their goals. On the other hand, they can be cunning, calculating, and tight with money! What’s your oriental zodiac animal? http://japanesezodiac.com/
