Bonjour tout le monde!

We thought we would update you on a few exciting things happening in Primary and Secondary French this term.      

Duolingo is an online language program that we are using to enhance our teaching and learning for Years 5-9. This can be used at home if allowed by simply logging in with their school email and password. It allows individual learning progression and assessment. The students are all enjoying and finding success using ‘Duolingo for Schools.’

Our school has two Sponsor Children we support and one speaks French –  Ramata is a sweet 6 year old girl from Burkina Faso, West Africa, a French speaking country. Our students have already sent some letters and pictures to Ramata, using their French skills.

The French room has been renovated to incorporate a computer hub, conference table and two reading corners for Junior and Senior reading activities. We had the assistance of two past French students to help set this up over several days.

Scripture and prayers in French have been used during the Years 7-9 classes.

Jacques the French speaking monkey continues to visit and teach French in the junior classes.
