From the Librarian

The highlight for this week was the wonderful Book Week Parade for ELC and Primary School classes. What a joy it was to sense the excitement as children arrived in their various costumes.

Some teachers, too, came in the style of favourite book characters or places and Mrs Fergusson shone as the hard-working farmer “Mrs Boot” from Apple Tree Farm.

Thank you to all families for your help and support in the costume department so that children could enjoy this special event that highlights books and the pleasure they can bring us. Last week some of the Secondary students celebrated their reading in costume, too. Miss Henderson and Mrs Lewis both looked as though they’d stepped straight out of a book and Year 8 students agreed that portraying a character helped the book come alive for them.

Finally, congratulations to our 2 winning classes this week:

Mrs Atkinson’s R/1’s and Mr Jones’s Year 5’s. Also congratulations to the winners of our ‘Surprise Teacher prizes’, Miss Mansfield  and  Mr Sands.

Well done and thank you to everyone.
