Leadership @ Monty

Gratitude. Empathy. Mindfulness.

Thank you to all those that attended the session with Hugh from The Resilience Project on Monday evening. The feedback from attendees has been incredible and more importantly, I have heard about many new strategies that have been put in place since then.  Our staff will continue to develop positive mental health habits in our students.  When these habits are reinforced from home, we know that we will see a higher level of resilience - we want our children to be well equipped for their daily encounters and experiences and of course, well equipped for the future.

This week is Cultural Diversity week and our students have been engaged in many wonderful activities that promote an appreciation and celebration of everybody. Today is Harmony Day and I enjoyed hearing from the Foundation students so readily articulate their interpretation of the day.

Caitlin - "Harmony Day is about sharing kindness."

Ollie- "It's about people getting along."

Parent-Teacher Interviews

A strong partnership between the school and parents makes the learning journey for our students much smoother. On Wednesday 3rd April between 12pm-7pm, we are hosting 'Progress Interviews' with your child's class teacher. Please use Compass to book a 15 minute interview time.

School Review

We are currently in the second week of our three week School Review and getting close to developing our Strategic Plan for the next four years.  I look forward to sharing with you in the next newsletter some thoughts and comments from the panel members about what we have at MPS that makes it such a great place of learning.

Easter is coming!

School holidays are not too far away. Our last day of term is a celebration, with an opportunity to wear an Easter-themed hat! Our annual parade will be at 1:30pm on Friday 5th April, whereby we will be drawing the Easter Raffle. We would appreciate any contributions towards our Easter hampers - a raffle is always a great, fun way of fundraising for our school. Please leave items at the office.
