Schools Clean Up Day

Clean up St Anthony’s day

Clean Up Australia Day is celebrating its 30th birthday in 2020.

As part of the event, Schools Clean Up Day encourages students and teachers to get involved by cleaning up their school grounds and engaging with topics on the environment and sustainability.

Schools Clean Up Day will take place on Friday 28 February 2020. We have registered as we really want to promote not plastic which seems to still dominate our playground.

Clean up St Anthony’s Day -Friday 28 February

2.30pm - 3.30pm

5/6 Student team: Maria, Sheoli, Luke, Shawn, Victoria, Ashuel, Grace and Akon

Logistics:

Students wear free dress - dressing in blue and green - colours of the earth 

At 2.30pm students work in class groupings and head to their designated clean up area to pick up all the rubbish

Preps (Out of bounds areas + quad)

1/2s (Oval/ playground/ bus shelter)

3/4s - on excursion - pick up rubbish on Wednesday afternoon

5/6s 

Church car park/ asphalt

Raymond St

Buckley St

Agnes St

Alfred St

Parent helpers/ teachers assigned to student groups who will walk with the students along their designated street 

3.00pm students return to the quad, dispose of the rubbish and wash their hands 

Prizes are handed out to students who were enthusiastic and motivated - teachers to choose these students throughout the afternoon (1 student from each class)

Music will be playing over the loudspeakers 

Bins will be stationed in the different areas for students to place their rubbish
