'Belonging, Being and Becoming'

ELC

Over the last two weeks the ELC children have been happily settling into the daily routine. This involves separating from parent/carer, putting their bag and drink bottle away and then enjoying playing with new friends.

We have been really pleased at how quickly the children are all learning our names – we play games to help us with this.

Our Blue group friends, with Bibi and Deepa have been enjoying mat time together with lots of stories and music.

Much fun was had by all the children when they created a ‘magic carpet’ out of a cardboard box. Who needs expensive toys when you can use your imagination and recycled materials?

Green group mat time, with Mary and Janet, also involves music and books. The children recently enjoyed hearing the story of ‘The Rainbow Fish’ so much that they have created their own ‘under the sea’ display. They have shown such skill with painting, cutting and sticking and at the same time learning about sea creatures. We have also extended this interest by introducing news song, for example, Three Jelly Fish.

We were also very pleased this week to welcome Deepa to our growing team of educators.
