ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day is celebrated on April 25th each year. It is a day when all the people who were involved in war, especially those who died, are honoured and remembered. On that day people all over Australia come together to remember those brave men and women who have defended our country. Their courage must never be forgotten. In our world there are still people fighting in wars. We hope and pray that one day all the people of the world will come together to live in peace and love. We pray that with God’s help our leaders can solve our problems peacefully.

Thank you to our St. Ed’s community for taking the time to remember, honour and reflect on the brave men and women who made sacrifices for us.

St. Joseph the Worker Feast Day

St. Joseph has two feast days on the liturgical calendar. The first is March 19th - Joseph, the Husband of Mary. The second is May 1st - Joseph, the Worker.

There is very little about the life of Joseph in Scripture but still, we know that he was the husband of Mary, the foster father of Jesus, a carpenter and a man who was not wealthy. We can see from his actions that Joseph was a compassionate man, and obedient to the will of God. He also loved Mary and Jesus and wanted to protect and provide for them.

Joseph is the patron of many things, including the universal Church, fathers, the dying and social justice.

We remember St. Joseph the Worker on May 1st.
