Meet our New Teachers

Meet our new classroom teachers!

JEMIMA BURKINSHAW

YEAR 1 /2 JB

Thank you to the St Anthony's school community who have made me feel so welcomed during my first few days. 2020 will be my 10th year of teaching. My first six years were spent in Richmond before returning to my home town of Wagga Wagga, NSW, where I grew up on a sheep, crop and cattle farm which my parents still run today. I really missed Melbourne during my three years back in the country, so I am very happy to be back.

I am a long-suffering Melbourne Demons supporter and hope to see them make finals again this year. I love running and am currently training for my 9th half marathon. My two dogs are my absolute favourite things in the world! I have a Pugalier named Kobe who thinks he's a sheepdog and a mini foxy with a dislike for motorbikes amongst many other things. I look forward to the year ahead here at St Anthony's.

LINZI CANAVAN

YEAR 3/4 LC

I was born and brought up in Scotland and come from a close-knit family, but travel was always something I was keen to explore. This brought me to Australia and I have now been here for 5 and a half years. When I first arrived here I traveled around before basing myself in the East Kimberley for a 2-year teaching post in an indigenous community.

I have been settled in Melbourne for the past 2 years and have my only brother here so plan to make this beautiful city home. I enjoy an active lifestyle and I love music theatre, so I am very excited about the St Anthony's musical this year.

It has been so welcoming to meet all the new staff, students and families of St Anthony's and I look forward to working as part of the community this year.

I go for the Bombers in the AFL and the Vixens in netball.
