Bookweek

“READING IS MY SECRET POWER” and we certainly had many fun activities this week to celebrate the power of reading!

We started off with our annual Bookweek Parade in the hall. We all enjoyed seeing the wonderful ideas and creations that our students had put into dressing as a book character.  We had such a variety of characters from well known and loved characters to lots of new characters. Whether it is a complete costume or a character dressed in everyday clothes with an object to make them standout,  there was certainly lots of colour and excitement at our parade. Mr Macgregor from Peter Rabbit was even there with his real rabbit! Aaron Blabey characters were popular, Dr Suess, Harry Potter, Fairytales, even all the characters from The Wizard of Oz, just to name a few.

Thank you to the staff that whizzed around in their capes and masks being Superheroes and continuing to spread the love of reading and books they enjoy.  Thank you to the students for sharing their excitement with us all and participating in the superhero and book activities together. AND of course it all happens because of the wonderful support from our parents.  I know dress up days can be hard, especially if you have a few children to outfit, but many thanks to you all for your support with the characters and costumes. We did truly celebrate the joy we get from books.

Bookshelves

Thanks to the Parent’s Association who have purchased some bookshelves for some of our classrooms. We need some help in assembling these please. It is a 3 people, half an hour job - 2 people holding the pieces and one using the screwdriver! Pop into the office as they’re waiting to be assembled.

Any questions please ask or email us.
