Happy Mother's Day!

Dear Parents and Friends of St Agatha's Primary School,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge Mother's Day and express our gratitude for the amazing mothers in our children's lives. As caregivers, mothers play a vital role in the growth and development of our children, and their unconditional love and support shape the person our children become. I would also like to extend our appreciation to the significant adults in children's lives, such as grandparents and extended family, who go above and beyond to provide the love and care our children need.

Thank you to the parents who organised, set up and faciliated the Mother's Day Stall. It was another successfully run event by our STAC group. This year was slightly different with parents being required to use the new CDFpay App. Thanks to everyone for getting on board and using this means to pay for the Mother's Day gifts!!

Thank you to the staff for organizing the Mother's Day breakfast and morning tea. It was a fantastic event, and we appreciate the efforts of the teachers and staff in making it happen. Thank you especially to Natalie LeMiere who co-ordinated and made the breakfast and morning tea happen! Thanks to all the staff whose energy and committement to the St Agatha's community never goes unnoticed! Here are some happy snaps of the cooking and preparing yesterday morning.

The students from years F-3 had a great time performing a concert for their mums, and it was heartwarming to see the joy on everyone's faces. Congratulations to the school choir and all the classes who contributed to the concert. Mrs Howell does an amazing job preparing and practicing with our very talented choir. And once again, our Taiko drummers did not disappoint! Well done everyone.

In other exciting news, we are thrilled to announce the opening of our new playground! The playground features a slide, monkey bars, and a climbing cube that will provide endless hours of fun and physical activity for our children. We are proud to offer such a wonderful facility for our students to play and learn.

This week, I once again urge all motorists to follow the road rules and signage around the school. Scott Street is particularly problematic with many cars parking along the street outside the school in the No Standing Zones. Stopping on this street during the times marked on the signs causes congestion and is dangerous for our students who may need to cross this street. There are many other places around the school to park your car and walk to the school. The Casey Council has been informed by frustrated neighbours and council members will be out to fine those who are not following the rules.

Unfortunately, we have had quite a few cases of COVID-19 emerge once again. It is recommended that you test your child for COVID over the weekend and if positive or if presenting with any symptoms that they are kept home. Please inform the school office if your child has tested positive for COVID and if you require a test kit, let the office know who can provide you with one. Unfortunately, a few of the teachers are off work due to COVID and as educators we are still required to isolate for a period of time while positive. Please help to keep our school safe and healthy by following these simple requests.

Once again, we want to extend our thanks to all the mothers and significant adults in our children's lives. Your love and support make a significant impact on our children's lives. We wish all mothers a happy and special Mother's Day.

Best regards,

Michelle Bruitzman
