New SMS system from the Health Centre

Good morning staff, students & families,

From Monday 12th June, any student that is admitted to the Health Centre will have an SMS alert sent to the first number on their emergency contact list. This is to provide transparency and awareness of students attending the Health Centre.

The SMS is just an alert for parents/carers to know where their student is whilst not in class. There is no need for parents/carers to contact the school upon receiving the SMS alert. Only if the student is to be collected will parents/carers receive a phone call requesting their collection from school.

The new system is a further affirmation of DSC's commitment to student healthcare and education requirements.

Winter Concert

Come along to our Performance Centre on Tuesday 6th June at 7pm and enjoy a night of great music played by our talented Instrumental Music students. Our students get a real buzz from performing in front of a live audience (and gain great experience) so they would love and value your attendance. Book your tickets via TryBooking here:  https://www.trybooking.com/CIMIH

All proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards purchasing more instruments for our Music department.

DSC students commemorate ANZAC Day

Last week DSC was actively involved in a number of local ANZAC Day events. Members of our student leadership team joined our Principal to represent DSC at the Doncaster RSL ANZAC Dawn Service. Well done to East Doncaster Secondary College for delivering a moving program with much respect.

Each year the Rotary Club of Templestowe hosts a Schools ANZAC Service and our wind symphony students were honoured to be asked to play the Australian and New Zealand national anthems at this well-attended community event. Congratulations to senior student, Ella, for singing the national anthem beautifully. Commemorating those who have served and died in wars and conflicts with your local community members is a powerful way to reflect and remember them.
