DSC Trivia Night
Our students attending last year's Alpine School Student Leadership camp have been working on a Community Learning Project that aims to re-ignite community spirit following the years of covid disruption. This week's Trivia Night was an event that they have been working on as part of this project.
On Tuesday the 30th of May we held a Doncaster Secondary College Trivia Night to reconnect the community after the last few years of COVID-19. Following on from last year’s Alpine School Leadership camp that went for the entirety of Term 4, the 8 of us who were lucky enough to go, ran this community night.
We were fortunate to work all throughout term four at Alpine School with the help of the staff and teachers that were on-site with us and then worked through parts of this term and last term, to make the night successful. Lots of changing plans and thinking on our feet were required to make the night come to be, and when we look at where we started, the plan changed heaps!!
We ran around 12 rounds of trivia, all with different themes for the sets of questions, that were broken up by live music with the help of Mr. Dean. It was a really nice night to get to know the community- especially teachers- outside of school and get to know them. It was a very strong competition with lots of teams moving around the ranks throughout the night, with the ‘Parents’ team ultimately taking out the title! We were also lucky enough to celebrate Mr. Morris’s birthday at the end of the night with a cake and a loud rendition of ‘Happy Birthday.’
