INTERACT News

We hope everyone in the Frankston High School community had a rewarding and rejuvenating break! Interact has hit the ground running in Term 2.

ANZAC Dawn Service 🌅

On Tuesday 25 April, Interact students assisted local Rotarians with a sausage sizzle fundraiser at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Beauty Park. $1700 was raised for the RSL Young Veterans, which is a wonderful achievement. Full credit to these ten students who arrived from 4.45am to assist with the proceedings!

Show of Appreciation 💸

On Thursday 27 April, Trudy Poole and Richard Jones from the Rotary Club of Frankston Peninsula 2.0 presented the Interact Team with a formal certificate of appreciation and a $500 donation as thanks for their assistance with the Duck Derby earlier in the year. Check out the photo of the students beaming around the giant novelty cheque they were awarded! Many thanks to the Rotary Club of Frankston Peninsula 2.0 for their ongoing generosity.

SkyHydrant Raffle: Every Dollar Counts and Quality Prizes on Offer! 💧

Thank you to all for purchasing one or more raffle tickets to help students raise funds for a SkyHydrant.

SkyHydrant is a modern water filtration system that can be installed in remote areas and filter upwards of 1,000 litres of water per hour, enough for 500-1000 people per day, and can be modified to hold and produce even more. It is incredibly cost-effective: every dollar spent translates to a stable source of clean drinking water for one child, every year.

Throughout 2023, Interact students have been fundraising toward purchasing a SkyHydrant for a community in Bhutan that currently lacks a clean and stable water supply. Thanks to generous donations from Rotary benefactors and our recent fundraising efforts, Interact is more than $3,200 closer to our $5,000 goal to purchase a SkyHydrant. This raffle will help us get even closer to achieving that goal!
