From the Principal
Dear Parents/Carers, Students and Friends
School Tours
We have run a number of school tours with prospective families over the past couple of weeks. These have been extremely well attended and there continues to be enormous interest in our wonderful learning community. Thank you to our Junior Sub School team: Ms Samantha Cody, Mrs Sharee Dew and Mr John Simon for their efforts in organising these tours. Thank you also to the large number of staff involved in making these a success by running a tour group or organising resources, and making our visitors so welcome at Frankston High School.
ANZAC Day Recognition
We recognised ANZAC Day as a school community on Friday 28 April, an important occasion to remember all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering of all those who have served. The recognition was led by our Year 9 LEAD class with some beautiful musical performances by our very talented music students. Thank you to Mrs Sarah Bahramis for organizing this, supported by Mr Isaac Bakker, Ms Peta Laughlin, Ms Danielle Bretherton, Mr Andrew McAdam and Ms Annie Griffin.
Two of our School Captains, Kelly Gilbert and Alex Shacklock together with Mr Peter Sharp and Mrs Peta Laughlin attended the Frankston RSL Dawn Service at Beauty Park where the girls sang beautifully. Well done!
Frankston Rotary Art Show
At the end of last term, the Frankston Rotary Art Show ran which was a fantastic event to celebrate many talented artists in the Frankston area. Congratulations to:
- Rom Hyde (Year 12) receiving Best Oil/Acrylic in Show,
- Jen Charlton (Year 11) winning Young Frankie’s First Place, and
- Swetha Aneesh Nair (Year 8A) winning Young Frankie’s Second Place.
A special mention to Beth Laughlin (Year 10) and Tilly Scott (Year 8N) receiving Highly Commended certificates. A big thank you to Frankston Rotary for providing our students with this exciting opportunity to participate and those who came along to support the fundraising event and our young artists.
We are extremely proud of our students and their teachers: Ms Birra-li Ward, Ms Angela Marrone, Ms Nat D’Ambra, Ms Georgie Stein and Ms Emily Vogt on such exceptional work.
