Well, after a bit of a stop start beginning to the term, we are now underway! The students have settled and we are all looking forward to experiencing what Term Two has to offer. With this being such a short term, the many events that are planned will come around very quickly. Please keep an eye on communication from the classrooms and the newsletters, so you are fully aware of what is coming up.

Mother’s Day

Our wonderful Community Network has once again arranged for the school to have a Mother’s Day stall. The students will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of gifts for someone special in their lives. Gifts will range from $2 to $15 and the students will be able to spend up to a maximum of $25. The stall will be held on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th May, so please check with your child as to which day has been allocated for them.

Year 6-7 Transition to Secondary School

The official transition forms were emailed last Thursday to the email address of Parent Contact A. These transition forms need to be completed and returned to Mr Sadler no later than 12th May 2023. When completing the forms, you must write down the name of your designated secondary school in section 4a, the name(s) of your preferred secondary school(s) in section 4b and both parents (if applicable) need to sign the last page.

Year 5 Camp

The Year 5 Camp is quickly approaching (15th – 17th May). Thankyou to those students who have been confirming their boots/leather shoes for the costumed elements of the camp. All clothing lists have now been sent home. Please check them and ensure that your child has the items on the list – particularly warm clothes and a waterproof jacket. Please do not send your child with a phone.

On Monday 15th, we are meeting at the Vermont Football Club rooms at 8:30. Please be on time as the quicker we can leave, the more time we will have at Sovereign Hill. The students won’t be eating until 12pm on Monday, so please ensure they have had a big breakfast.

ICAS

The ICAS competition will again be offered to students in 2023. This year we are offering: English, Spelling and Maths for years 2-6 and Writing for Years 3-6. If you would like your child to participate please follow the instructions on the ICAS page of this newsletter.
