Ngarri Ngarri News

During Term 1 our First Nation’s Students took part in a range of culturally fulfilling activities.

To kick off the year the Ngarri Ngarri Team invited all families to attend our ‘Welcome Night’. Families enjoyed pizza and meeting our new Ngarri Ngarri team, First Nations Leaders and GSSC Leadership Team. We would like to thank Rights Information Advocacy Centre Inc and WDEA Works for their attendance to provide our families with information on disability support, advocacy and navigating NDIS.

Our First Nation’s Leaders represented our school and community with pride when they attended the annual Apology Breakfast at the Queens Garden’s. It was fantastic to see one of our First Nation’s Leaders, Shanikwa Allen-Jones sing one of her own songs – Too Deadly!

Our Frist Nation’s Leaders were presented with their badges and introduced to the wider school community during our Investiture Assembly and Our Year 9 Students took part in the Korin Gamadji Institute Workshop where they were lucky enough to meet Richmond AFL stars.

We celebrated Harmony Week with two astounding performances and beautifully presented poetry by one our First Nations Leaders, Cody Fairless, who signified our strong culture and rich history. The atmosphere was incredible, it was wonderful to share our culture with all.

What a great Term we have had! We look forward to seeing you all in Term 2!

Happy Easter from The Ngarri Ngarri Team.
