With the start of Term 2 we would like to welcome a number of staff members to Mount View. Mr Haishi Qin is the new teacher of 2 HQ, Ms Gudrun Evans joins 6EG and Tina Downard joins our Visual Arts team.

 

Farewell

Congratulations to Christabelle Toohey, our Visual Arts teacher, who today begins her maternity leave. Christabelle has been an inspiration in Visual Arts for over four years at Mount View.

 

Education Week

Victorian Schools will celebrate Education Week from Monday 15 - Friday 19 May. The focus this year will be on movement in learning. This is already very strong at Mount View and it is great that this is now seen as an essential factor in effective learning programs. On Open Morning for parents to visit classrooms will be held on Tuesday 16 May from 9 -10 am.

 

Cultural Diversity Week

Cultural Diversity Week will be held from Monday 22 - Friday 26 May highlighting the rich diversity of culture at Mount View. Thank you to the team, led by Angela Pulbrook for their work in preparation for this week’s activities. Students will be showcasing their talents and interests through dance, busking and performance.

 

Swimming

The learn to swim program continues from Tuesday 23 May with programs for students in Year 3, Year 2 and Year 6.

 

Monash Manningham Principal Class Network Conference

The local network Principal Class conference will be held at Marysville from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 May. I will be attending this conference along with the Assistant Principals Bianca Gatherum and Amanda. Curtain. The Acting Principal while we attend will be Sara Kenfield and she will be assisted by the Leading Teachers Naomi Hoewel, Candace Middleditch, Kristen Whykes and Adam Foster.
