Western Touch

On Sunday, the Opens Boys and Girls Teams travelled to Cudgegong Waters to rest up before a big day in Mudgee on Monday. The accommodation was excellent and gave the students a great way to break the journey up. After a quick breakfast, the teams hit the road fresh to Glen Willow Complex to compete.

The boys were in a tough pool with Dubbo, Bathurst and Mudgee so were always going to have a tough day, however, they fought hard and never gave up. Always pushing hard in their drives and scoring some excellent tries.

Results

vs Dubbo College 0-7

vs Mudgee 1-6 (Try Karchinsky)

vs Bathurst 3-7 (Tries Mears, Apps & Karchinsky)

It was a great hit out leading into the Central Schools Season and made them realise there is a lot of work ahead.

The girls had an excellent day, they played with great continuity and teamwork, making teams work for every metre against them.

They started the day with a dominant win over Gulgong, before possibly one of the upsets of the day downing Canobolas. The girls ran out of puff in the later stages of a tight loss to Parkes before finishing the day with a draw against Kandos. They did themselves proud and finished fifth overall on the day.
