Around The Primary

Dear Parents,

It was a wonderful night for the very proud families who filled Roncalli Hall to watch the Year 4 students in ‘Bugs – The Musical’. It was amazing to see the students sharing their talents on the stage and enjoying themselves too! To the great credit of our Performing Arts Specialist, Ms Cattapan and Music Specialist, Mrs Haydon, the Musical was a huge success. Special thanks to Mrs Fontaine and Mrs Goss for their commitment throughout the production process.

We congratulate the 60 Year 4 students who have worked hard for many weeks to put together this amazing performance. The young cast were able to sing, dance, recite their lines with confidence and engage the audience in a most entertaining way. We are so proud of their outstanding performances and commitment to the musical. I'm sure 'Bugs – The Musical' will be retained as a highlight of their Primary school life.

Thank you to all the parents for ensuring that your children were able to attend rehearsals and practise their lines and dances at home. A big thank you to the many parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the incredible costumes and organising the very effective make-up for the dress rehearsal, matinee, and evening performances.

It has been wonderful to receive so many messages and emails of thanks -these have been greatly appreciated by the staff.

The children were incredible which is a testament to Ms Catt and her amazing talent to write such an inclusive musical which allowed every child to shine.  I also wanted to say how grateful I am that the parents were asked to help and get to see the massive effort that goes on behind the scenes to make it all happen.

I was in the audience for the Year 4 Musical and just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. Great singing, acting, and dancing. Lots of energy and confidence. All the students did brilliantly. I loved the puns and song choices.

You should be very proud of the Year 4 children. I was amazed at how well rehearsed they were and how good the stage looked with the costumes, lighting and props. Loved it!

In essence, ‘Bugs – The Musical' was an absolute magic to watch! As can be seen in the attached clip, we were delighted by the enthusiasm and joy with which the students took on their roles on the big stage.

Enjoy the long weekend!
