Sustainability  Student Leaders

Our group have been surveying classes around their class practises with recycling. We will be looking at how we can best support and assist them.

Coming up later this term we will be having a KESAB bin assessment.

An experienced KESAB assessor will visit our site to assess the effectiveness of our current bin systems and provided advice and suggestions to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill by:

• improving existing collections (e.g. drink containers, paper and card board recycling)
• introducing new collections (e.g. food scraps for compost, clean film plastic).

During the bin assessment, the assessor will walk through our school accompanied by members of our sustainability group and some staff to look at our systems. They will make note of bin systems, bin placement and bin contents. 

After the assessment KESAB will provide a report with recommendations and suggestions to successfully implement changes for improvements.

We really look forward to this report and seeing how we can improve our systems and embed recycling practises into our classes.
