Library News
Old World, New Worlds, Other Worlds...
What a fantastic week we have had celebrating Book Week.
We have had geocaching with Nature play, a wonderful parade with some amazing costumes, zoom sessions with authors and our library is now home to all our students beautiful artwork they have created inspired by the books. Classes have been working on art installations on different book week books. One class performed one of the books entertaining our preschool students.
This newsletter has a lot of photos as we unfortunately could not invite parents/caregivers. We hope you enjoy them.....
Nature Play incursion
Cameron from Nature Play came to visit on Monday and Tuesday to provide a new experience in geocaching for our Bookwork celebrations. Using gps technology we tracked down activity bags that were hidden around the school. Classes needed to complete the activity that was linked to the nominated books and record a word to crack the secret code. Observing the students enthusiasm over several very chilly days it was obvious they really enjoyed it.
Book Fair
Tuesday 7th - 13th September
In week 8 we are holding our annual Book Fair. It will be set up in the library and students will visit the fair and take home a "wish list" of books they would like to purchase. All proceeds go to our library. We receive 30% of the takings in books so it is quite a good fund raiser for our school.
