VTAC Announcement: SEAS and Scholarships advisory deadline for guaranteed document review

Year 12 students who submit their VTAC SEAS and Scholarships documentation by Friday 17 September will be guaranteed a review of their documents and contacted if there are any problems with them, for example, if they are illegible or out of date. This will give students time to resubmit documents before the final SEAS and Scholarships deadline of 5pm on 8 October. VTAC will continue to review documents submitted after the advisory deadline and prior to the final deadline, but cannot guarantee that the initial document review will be completed in time for resubmission of rejected documents.

Applications to join the Victorian Youth Congress for 2022 are now open!

This is a unique opportunity for young Victorians aged 12-25 to work with the Victorian Government to advise on the development of policy and programs relevant to young people. The 2022 Victorian Youth Congress will play a key role in implementing the new Victorian youth strategy, due to be released later this year. Applications from passionate candidates across the state are welcome. The Victorian Youth Congress is the Minister for Youth’s advisory body and gives young Victorians the chance to learn more about government, positively influence change, develop professional skills and build networks with other young people interested in making change. This initiative is looking for young people who enjoy working in a team and have a strong interest in issues relevant to young people across the state. Previous experience in advisory groups or working with government is not required; what matters is passion and potential. Applications are open until Monday 13 September. Deakin CASPer Test Information Webinar – Wednesday 15 September at 5:30pm

Deakin School of Education invites students and parents to learn more about the CASPer test. Students applying to study teaching in 2022 must successfully complete the CASPer test, an online situational judgement test that measures non-academic suitability for teaching. This webinar will cover: 

  • Deakin's teaching courses
  • How Casper works and what to expect on test day
  • Helpful tips on how to prepare for the Casper test
  • Upcoming Casper dates, how to sign up and register for a test
  • Why aspiring teachers are required to sit the test.

Inspiring Women in Tech Webinar – Thursday 16 September, 11am to 12pm

This online opportunity will provide inspiration to female students considering technology career pathways. Join this webinar to meet and interact virtually with five women who have inspiring jobs in technology. Find out more about the guest speakers here. Each of the speakers will use graphics as they:

  • Explain what they do in their job on a typical day
  • Share what they like about their work
  • Provide a summary of their career journey since leaving school
  • Speak about challenges faced along the way and how they tackled them
  • Provide a word of advice to young female students embarking on their career journey

La Trobe Aspire Early Entry applications closing soon

Applying to the Aspire program is a great opportunity for Year 12 students to secure an early conditional offer by early October into their preferred course at La Trobe. Students who demonstrate leadership, volunteer within the community, are school captains or captain a sports team, or supported their family during a difficult time are encouraged to find out more about how to apply

 

Aspire applications are nearing the end, La Trobe have now started drop in sessions for students to join via zoom from 3:30pm – 4pm Monday to Thursday until applications close on 17 of September. Students can register via the following link and join the Aspire team to discuss all things Aspire, ask questions and receive application support. Federation University Early Offer Program 

Finishing high school can be stressful, so why not give yourself peace of mind with Federation University's Early Offer Program? Not only is an early offer exciting to receive but knowing that you have already secured a place in a degree means you can head into exams fully focused. Most bachelor degrees are available for early offers, and to view courses accepting Early Offer applications click here. Australian and PR students are eligible to apply, and must ensure they meet the prerequisite subjects for their preferred course. Applications are now open and close on 3 December 2021. Students will receive a conditional offer, and if they meet the conditions of the Early Offer when they receive their VCE results, students will be issued a VTAC course offer in the first offer round. University of Melbourne Faculty Of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences: New Future Students Webpage

Th Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have launched a digital space for future students to meet current students and alumni across the globe, and find out more about their many journeys and experiences to gain greater insight into what it’s like to study at University of Melbourne and become part of a close-knit community of students, alumni and academics. This new Future Students webpage also provides videos featuring various study options, useful resources and upcoming events. Monash University Pathways to Medicine

Monash University offers both direct entry and graduate entry into their medicine program, giving students two potential pathways to studying our Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD).
