Learning & Teaching in 3/4T

3/4T 6.0 Lockdown Edition

Over the past few weeks in 3/4T we have been MAD ABOUT SCIENCE!

During home learning we have been conducting different experiments, then writing aims, hypotheses, drawing diagrams and coming up with conclusions. We watched Mrs Ticca create her very own Lava lamp and then were able to make some at home ourselves. Mrs Chiverton showed us what happened when we added water, sugar and food colouring and left the creation in the sun! We could follow along at home during the google meet and then watch what happened to them over the sunny weekend.

On Friday the 27th of August we had a FANTASTIC incursion online. We were told to come to a google meet with a list of materials and get excited for a fun hour of science.

Below some students from 3/4T have written about the incursion:

Josef : The Science incursion was lots of fun. My favorite part was the experiment where you had to have a cup, card, toilet roll, ball and you had to pull the card out to try and get the ball to land in the cup! I was good at this. I learnt that paper floats and takes longer to drop to the ground than a ball of scrunched up paper.

Ruby: I was so excited and loved doing the Science incursion online! It was so fun learning new things such as why a piece of paper with a point falls faster than a ball scrunched up. I really enjoyed blowing up the balloon and watching it fly around the room.

Lucy: I had such a good time and so much fun! My favourite activity was the water bottle, straw and blu tack experiment. It was very interesting! I enjoyed learning about rocket fuel and how rockets get to space.
