Victorian Fossil emblem - we need everybody's vote - adult and children!

We are thrilled to announce the Pelagornis fossil has been nominated by Melbourne Museum for a vote to represent Victoria's fossil emblem! There are a number of beautiful Victorian fossils nominated but the Pelagornis fossil found in Beaumaris will put Bayside on the map. Every individual, child and adult can vote and every vote counts - we are so excited!

The 5-million-year-old fossils of Pelagornis from bayside Beaumaris were discovered more than 150 years after it was first named and proved this bird had a worldwide distribution.

We know that our Bayside young people are resilient and creative and we want to see how you are staying active during the current restrictions.

Are you walking the dog? Practicing your skateboard flips in the garage? Maybe you are making your own playground in the spare room or creating an obstacle course in the backyard.

Whatever it is you are doing to stay active, we want to see it!

We will be sharing entrants who have been staying active on our Facebook page, so you can inspire Bayside City Council and your friends and family.

To enter, simply send in a photo of you being active or a short video and we will do the rest. If you are under 18, we will need your parents' information to share the photos and all submissions must be appropriate for our social media page.
