Principal's Message

Mr Forrest

Well Done Everybody!

There is very little I can say but a huge congratulations and a big well done to everybody for making it to the end of Term 3.  There has never been and hopefully will never be another Term 3 like we have just completed.    Talk about a rollercoaster of learning and emotion.  At least we can have the next two weeks to switch off and recharge ourselves for a positive Term 4 along with a huge finish to 2021.

We have a lot to look forward to, as we have been busy filling gaps to reschedule camps, Deb Balls and other special events and experiences for our students.   Keeping in mind of current restrictions and COVID safe practices we will attempt to run as many of the missed events as possible.  We have made a decision to hold the Deb Ball on the 26th of November and hoping a crowd can be present. The Year 7/8 Camp will go ahead in early  November as scheduled. We will also make it a priority to hold a Year 3/4 Camp at some stage in Term 4.  There will be many other exciting events as well as onsite learning activities to enjoy in Term 4, look out for an update events calendar which be sent out during the first week back.

We recognise the fact students and adults have coped in different ways with the effects of COVID restrictions.  Please continue to seek support from our Wellbeing Team and staff members should you need it.  I look forward to seeing everyone in person on-site next term.     Thanks for the feedback about the youtube Wedderburn News Channel. We look forward to sharing more online content in the future.  Please send in your suggestions for segments and new TV commercials.  If you missed the bad acting and poor Dad jokes here is the link: https://youtu.be/XwscCH29hPE.   I will be sharing my favourite BBQ dim sims with the Year 12's this week.  Don't knock'em until you have tried them!

At the end of the day I want to thank everyone in the Wedderburn School Community for everything you have done to support your child/children and others through this difficult chapter of our modern day history.   Stay strong and have a great and well deserved holiday break.

All the best

Mr Forrest
