Adventure Track

Our new adventure track was opened on Monday to the applause of our children who have been watching it evolve over the past few weeks.

It has been wonderful to watch the children explore the various stations and it has certainly sparked imagination and curiosity. Our Ga Ga pit is proving a big hit and will most certainly require rostering... a job for our Student Leadership Team.

In partnership with our PFA, we hope to add more stations across the year.

Cross Country

Last Friday our Cross Country Team competed in the Footscray District Cross County Carnival at Hansen Reserve.

All children competed admirably and congratulations to the following children who placed Top 6 and will progress to the next stage of the competition:

  • Raphael Shearer
  • Sophie Fitzsimon
  • Elena Galliano
  • Alessandra Garro
  • Theodore Nicholls

Big Day Out

Tomorrow we will be attending our Big Day Out: Combined Schools Celebration in celebration of Catholic Education Week.

We, along with children from St Augustine's and Annunciation Primary Schools, will celebrate  Mass at St Augustine’s Church at 10:30 am followed by a sausage sizzle lunch and activities run by KABOOM SPORTS.

Please note that we will have an early snack break prior to departing but it is suggested children bring along some additional healthy snacks to eat when needed.

For lunch children will receive:

  • 1 sausage in bread
  • 1 fruit drink box

If this is not sufficient, or your child doesn't eat sausages, children are to bring additional or alternate food items.

Children are to wear their SPORTS uniform (including hat) and are to bring a small backpack containing their water bottle and snacks. Please make sure EVERYTHING is labelled.

We will depart by bus from Corpus Christi at approximately 10:00 am and return around 3:00 pm.

School Athletics Carnival

You should have all now received notification of our School Athletics Carnival which will be held on Monday 20th March, at Moonee Ponds Athletics Track (Aberfeldie Park).

All children (Year Prep - Year 6) will be transported by bus and will return around 1:30 pm.

Buses will be leaving at 9:10 am so please have your children at school on time.

Children will eat lunch upon their return to school.

Children will need to:

  • Have an extra-large breakfast
  • Wear a T-shirt of their team’s colour along with their normal sports shorts
  • Wear their school hat (please make sure they are labelled with your child’s name)
  • Bring a small backpack containing
    •  refillable water bottle
    • morning tea
    • extra healthy snacks to get them through the day

Please note that children will have lunch upon their return to school.

We will also need a number of parents to volunteer to assist with events so please indicate your availability on the Operoo Form being sent home. Parents will be contacted prior to the day confirming your attendance. Please note volunteers MUST have an up-to-date WWCC.

Please note that the back-up date for the carnival, should it need to be rescheduled due to weather, is Monday 27th March.

Our Athletics Carnival is always a lot of fun so let's hope the weather is kind to us.

Uniform

A reminder that all children should be wearing their summer uniform. For boys that means wearing grey shorts.  The long pants are part of the winter uniform which is to be worn in Terms 2 and 3.

God bless
