Dear Parents/Guardians

As I write this newsletter we are all in the midst of the Easter lead-up. For some of us, this is a quiet, relaxing family time, for others a busy time with visitors, trips away, and Easter activities. Whatever your focus is over this long weekend, I hope that it is filled with laughter, good conversation, and time with family and friends.

Congratulations to our Foundation students and parents on a great start to school life. It is a privilege to be with our youngest students this week and reflect on so much growth in such a short amount of time. A sign of good things to come!

Thank you again to all those involved in the camp. We had a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed myself and at times laughed until it hurt. It was a pleasure to be away with this group!

- Please wear full school uniform, and bring runners if needed for PE.

Golden Horseshoe Festival

Not long to go until the Festival on Saturday! Great to see lots of gold costumes being shared and talked about!

For those who are joining us at the parade, please meet outside of the Honey Shop by 2:45 pm. Students can be collected from here, following the parade.

A big thanks to those who have volunteered to help out on Saturday at the food stall. Any eski’s being loaned can be dropped off at school tomorrow or the food stall on Saturday morning.

ANZAC Day

On Tuesday 25th April, Trish Shaw will be leading our ANZAC Day march. Anyone who would like to be a part of this and represent St. Joseph’s, please meet at the Honey Shop by 10:40 am, in school uniform.

Staffing Updates

Paul O’Meara, our grounds/ maintenance person is relocating to the coast. We will certainly miss Paul, and I would like to thank him for his hard work and dedication.

We will be advertising for a replacement this week.

Covid Updates

This a reminder to be aware of Covid symptoms, as there are cases locally. At this point we do not need to notify you of cases, however, it is important to be reminded. We still have a number of RATS if you need them, please contact the office.

TheirCare Before School Care Survey

Recently families were invited to complete a survey to indicate interest in a Before School Care service at St. Joseph’s.

Unfortunately, the results from the survey indicate that the level of interest is too low at the moment to open up. We would need an average of 7-8 children per morning to make it viable.

If families need this service I encourage you to use the service which runs at Beechworth Primary School by Their Care. Extra staff are rostered on to support with bus services.

Attendance by our students at this service regularly would help support the need for a service here at St. Joseph’s.
