Avalon Air Show

Greater Shepparton Secondary College was able to secure free tickets to the Avalon Air Show last Friday 3rd March. The aim of this excursion was for students interested in the STEM subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, to hear about all the different job opportunities in the aviation field. 

Talks from industry representatives at Qantas, Boeing and Lockheed Martin were given and RMIT University gave a presentation about their Bachelor courses in Aviation. Students heard that there were jobs requiring a range of education from TAFE courses to University. There are opportunities for everyone to work in the industry. 

After the presentation students were able to explore the displays and what an amazing experience it was. Students involved thoroughly enjoyed the day. Opportunities like this are offered to all students and are advertised on the Senior Secondary Careers TEAMS page for Year 10 – 12.
