Work in Progress Concert

On Tuesday 28th March, the music program will be running our first concert for the year, Work in Progress. 

The bands and ensembles have all been working hard learning music and this concert is a chance to demonstrate the progress they have made over a short period of time. 

The concert will start at 6pm in the Theatrette and admission is free.

Instrumental Music Program

Our Training Band has started for the year, however, we still have vacancies for a number of instruments, particularly brass and woodwind. If you are still interested in learning an instrument but have yet to sign up, come and see Liesl on level 1 of the Enterprise building.

Ensemble Rehearsals

All of the Instrumental Music Program Ensembles have commenced rehearsals already this year. It is an expectation that students who have instrumental music lessons are a member of at least one of the following groups:

• Symphonic Band – Tuesdays 3.30-5pm
• Mid-Level Band – Wednesdays 3.30-5pm
• Training Band – Mondays 3.30 – 4.30pm
• Vocal Ensemble – Tuesday lunchtime
• String Ensemble – Wednesdays 3.30-4.30pm

Instrumental Music Students also have the opportunity to become a member of either of the following optional bands:

• Stage Band – Thursday lunchtime
• Junior Jazz Band – Friday lunchtime

All ensembles will perform at various concerts and festivals throughout the year, like the W.i.P. Concert mentioned above, and I’ll keep you updated when these are coming up.
