German Poster Competition

The South Australian German Teachers Association (SAGTA) runs an annual  POSTER COMPETITION open to all South Australian R-10 students learning German. Each year there is a new theme and a different focus area for each age group. 2022 was all about the German-speaking country, Switzerland.  We were very excited to be able to send in some high-quality entries from LNPS at the end of last term.

Reception -Year 2 students were required to draw and colour in a scene from the famous story, Heidi. Years 3-5 were asked to produce a poster about an iconic building, structure or park in Switzerland with accompanying sentences in German.

Anushree Diwanji painted the beautiful Oberhofen Castle (Schloss Oberhofen) that sits on the edge of Lake Thun (Thunersee). Blasko sketched the Lion Monument in Lucerne (Löwendenkmal), which commemorates the Swiss guards that died during the French Revolution. After reading Heidi in class and learning about Switzerland, Amaya drew a very detailed picture of Heidi in the Swiss Alps.

This week we received the very exciting news that these 3 entries had been successful. We are so proud of their efforts and wish to congratulate these students on their achievements:

Amaya C         R-2     First Prize

Anushree D          Yr 3-5 First Prize

Blasko W                Yr 3-5 Second Prize

Their work will be on display at the annual SAGTA conference in May and following this will be on display in the school library for parents and students to see.

Congratulations on this pursuit of excellence Amaya, Anushree, Blasko! We are so proud of your efforts.  Ausgezeichnet!
