Year 6 Taco Truck Project

On day one of Year 5 NAPLAN, the Year 6s started to design their brands and logos for our taco trucks. Some examples of names are 'Tacorific Tacos', 'Sunshine Tacos' and 'LOBD Tacos'. We started by coming up with 3 names, 3 logos, and 3 truck layouts, and chose our favourite for each. We then started designing the menu - shells, condiments, meats and toppings - all complete with prices. After that, the floor plan and background was formed. With this comes the 3D furniture. We can’t wait to have them on display!

Maths @home @school @3pm

On Monday 19th of March, the Year 5/6s invited their family and close friends to join them in a special Maths @Home afternoon. It took place on the stage and table area just outside the BER building at 3pm and there were quite a few parents and friends who came along to learn and play Maths games with us. We played two card games called ‘99 or bust’ and ‘Salute’. All of us joining together to share these games with our families was so much fun and we all want to thank the parents and friends that came along to play with us.

Harmony Week Dance Incursion

On Tuesday 21st of March 2023 the Year 5/6s went into the hall for a special cultural dance incursion as part of our Harmony Week celebrations. There we met Sammy and Mary who taught us how to do the following 4 cultural dances, which were Isukuti from South Africa, Dia de Los Muertos from Mexico, Salsa from Brazil, Bull dance from Spain and lastly Bharatanatyam from India. We all had a wonderful time learning these cultural dances and meeting Mary and Sammy. We would love to thank Sammy and Mary for their time.
