State Schools Spectacular
The BBPS choir had their first rehearsal for the Victorian State School Spectacular this week at Oakleigh South Primary School and it was fantastic. They were joined by 4 other schools and learnt 5 out of the 13 songs needed for the performance in September. Ayla, one of our Performing Arts Captains said 'it was a really fun day and all the warm up activities were great. It's really pumped me up ready for our performance'.
Our choir will be on stage with over 1000 singers, dancers and musicians from schools around Victoria. We might even be on tv! Keep an eye out in the newsletter for more information about the performances and tickets next term. Would be great to have lots of our BBPS community in the audience.
Grade 6 Halogen Young Leaders Conference
Charlie: “We went into the city to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and there were lots of other schools there. When we got there we went into an auditorium and there were different people speaking. My favourite part was when Dippa (the footballer) spoke about how he got his career. I enjoyed his talk because I like sport and he was very funny."
Lottie “We went to the Halogen conference so we could see people’s Journeys to be leaders and the steps they took to become leaders. We saw Nazeem Hussain, a comedian, Amanda Johnstone, a tech inventor and Candy Hurst, a sport broadcaster. I loved listening to Candy Hurst because she has had so many different jobs abut they have mostly been sports related. I think I would be a good leader because, I could make people laugh and inspire them to do their best.”
