Messages from our leaders

Thank you 4/5/6 for going to Romsey Sport on Friday last week and for bringing home and putting the canteen rubbish in the bin.

We also got a warning from Macedon Ranges waste management that our school has been putting black rubbish (our black bin bags) in the recycling bin, so if you have seen them in the recycling can you please put them in the red. We would also like you to know to not touch the hose when we are filling up the frog bog.

Thankyou to all students, teachers and adults for respecting Hanging Rock’s grounds and wildlife with keeping the Rock clean at cross country. This means a lot to us. You are also doing very well with the soft plastics. We also want remind you that you can’t put the soft plastics in the red bin so make sure they come home with you.

Since the start of the school year, every student helped our whole school achieve 847 value cards. We are very proud of everyone and it will take only 1153 value cards until we reach our goal of a whole school celebration. A special mention to Cameron, Thomas, Jaxson and Matilda from the 3/4 class for achieving at least one excellence card (the hardest card to earn).

On the topic of value cards, the 5/6s have a new arrangement for their value card award system. Unlike the junior students, the seniors have to achieve 100 value cards to reach a certificate. They also have to earn 500 cards to celebrate their achievement with a whole class party.

On Wednesday the 8th of March (International Women’s Day), our school had decided to do a crazy hair day to raise money for One Girl, an organisation for girls and women living in Sierra Leone and Uganda. It was a gold coin donation. We raised $125! (see photos in school events)

Keep up the great work everyone,

Iris, Harvey, Jessie & Luke
