P&C AGM Meeting and P&C Membership

At our P&C AGM, we were unable to fill the P&C Executive positions. As a result, we have decided to reconvene and have rescheduled the AGM for Thursday 20 April at 4:30pm (in the staffroom) to form a P&C Executive Committee.

This is a serious situation as without an Executive Committee, our P&C will be dissolved.

What does this mean?

None of the fun stuff our current P&C fun: Discos, Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls, meal deals, slime runs, fetes, trivia nights.
No fundraising opportunities to improve our school facilities.
Less parent voice sharing ideas of how our school can continue to improve.

So, if you’ve ever thought about putting your hand up, now’s the time to step up. Come on your own, come with a friend, come with 10 friends.

Just turn up!

As a parent of a student at our school, you are not automatically a member of the P&C. To become a member, please submit your membership form for approval at the AGM. Please find the membership form below and send it to pandcsecretarypbss@gmail.com

Being part of the P&C is a great way to meet other parents and be involved in fundraising and supporting the school community. As a member of the P&C you have the opportunity to join the conversation on how funds raised are spent to enhance your child’s school experience. P&C meetings which are held week 4 and 8 of each term, please contact us at pandc@palmbeachss.eq.edu.au if you have any questions.

Recent P&C Donations

At a Special Meeting held on 15th March the P&C were very proud to make a series of donations to the school. The P&C endeavoured to ensure that the donations reached all areas of the school so all students would benefit. The following donations were approved and made to the school:

$40,000 towards building an amphitheater style play area/outdoor classroom
$5,000 to purchase new books for the library
$2,000 to purchase new home reader books
$4,000 to the Music department to purchase new music instruments and equipment
$5,000 to the Physical Education department to purchase new sporting equipment
$1,000 to purchase rash shirts for the district surfing team; with any outstanding balance to go to student council
$1,000 towards the school garden program
$3,500 towards a Prep to Year 6 end of year fun day celebration for 2023

Without a P&C, donations and improvements to our school like those listed above just aren’t possible, please get involved.

Slime Spectacular Fun Run

WOW, the Slime Run was a huge success and a mountain of fun!

Thank you to all the students who participated and to their families and friends for sponsoring them. A huge thank you to all the P&C and all the Volunteers on the day for their amazing efforts in setting up, sliming and packing away to ensure the students had an awesome time. Thank you to the PBSS Staff for getting into the spirit and slimey!!!

A huge $26,487 was raised for our school and we achieved the planting 400 tree seedlings and 1863 coral seedlings!!!

5B is the class that raised the most funds, there is a Pizza Party coming your way early Term 2.
