Principal's Views

From Mandy O'Mara

Dear Parents, Carers, and Friends of Epping Views Primary School,

This week has been a busy week for our Year 3 and 5 students. They commenced NAPLAN on Wednesday and will continue working through the testing over the coming week. With the support of their teachers, the students have all done a great job, tried their best and worked really hard to complete the first few tests. Results from NAPLAN will take a few months to come back. I will let you know when results come in.

Next week we farewell Laura Botoulas who is taking family leave for her second baby. We wish her all the best in the coming weeks.

Next Friday, March 24th we will be celebrating Harmony Day at EVPS. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. Held every year in March, Harmony Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. On this day we will be asking all staff and students to wear orange or dress in their national costume. We look forward to celebrating this event. Look out for photos on Facebook.

Our teachers are currently preparing Term 1 Progressive reports. The purpose of these reports is to provide parents and caregivers a snapshot of student progress. These reports will be available on Compass at the end of the term.

Please remember that your child’s teacher is the first port of call for all questions, concerns or enquiries about your child. They know your child best. The office staff will happily assist you to make contact with your child’s teacher.

Rapid antigen testing

It is still recommended that rapid antigen tests (RATs) are used by students and staff:

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19 infection, no matter how mild
  • If you are a household or close contact of someone who has COVID-19
  • If you are a social contact of someone who has COVID-19.

The Department of Health recommends that all Victorians report their positive RAT result to the Department of Health online, or by calling 1800 675 398.
