3/4 MGClass News -

Ms Maryanne

We have been working hard to learn more about Narrative texts.

We have learnt about the features and structure of the texts-

  • Orientation- the beginning that catches our attention and try to include the Who, When, What, Where and Why.
  • Developing Problem and Dialogue
  • Resolution to the problem
  • Conclusion - ending

Narratives can begin in a traditional way with ‘Once upon a time…’ or  ‘A long time ago’  or

‘Start with a Bang!.............. ‘What was that noise?’

You can take a known story and change the characters and  setting.

Here are some of our personal story examples..

Humphrey

In the huge Melbourne Aquarium, all the lights were turned off.  Inside it was the end of the day and all the visitors were gone. There were three fish called Stripes, Turbo and Speedy who had annoying parents so they swam away to a different part of the aquarium.

Anderson

Once upon a time there were three little rabbits called Pip, Rose and Max. They all lived underground. One built a burrow made of rocks. The second rabbit built a house made of stones. The third rabbit built a house of bricks.

Sophie

On a hot, sunny day there were three fairies called Casey, Sophie and Angela who liked to play and fly in the sunny forest.

Georgie

One day, three baby Cheetahs came into the world.  One was called Emily and the others were Astrina and Billy.  They lived in the boiling hot Savannah, filled with drooping and dead plants in the middle of nowhere.  They grew big, strong and smart like their mother and father.
