How can we talk to children about their future?

In May, Trinity will be participating in National Careers Week 2023.  What is National Careers week about? It is an initiative by the Career Industry Council of Australia to promote discussion and celebrate career development.

You might be thinking that a primary aged child is years away from thinking about their career; however conversations and exposure to different careers highlights to young children the importance of their education and the value of attending school every day.

On top of this, when a child hears about a career that they've never had exposure to it allows them to start formulating a road map into what their interests and strengths are. When a child is aware of their strengths and interests they are empowered to learn more and develop confidence in these areas.

As part of our National Careers Week celebrations I am putting a call out to any parents, friends, family and connections who would be willing to share their careers and how they got there with students across the grades of Prep-6. If you know anyone or would be interested in doing this please contact me on boconnor@tcs.catholic.edu.auor catch me for a chat in the yard.

Kind Regards,
