Dear Parents and Carers

As the school term draws to a close it is fitting to reflect on our Lenten Journey together throughout the past 6 weeks. We started our Journey on February 22nd you may remember it was a particularly wet day.  The students and teachers were marked with a cross of ashes to remind us that all we have and do, we can attribute to God's love for us.

Many things have happened during this time and I have gratefully immersed myself in the supportive and caring culture the community has created. If we use Kinder as an example we typically see students well supported and happily engaging in their learning and making new friends. They have gone from the nervousness of being at school to thriving.

On Sunday we commence Holy Week. This is typically a time where we experience a sense of urgency to get things completed before the pupil vacation period. Bishop Brian throughout lent has encouraged us to ...enter into a retreat like atmosphere where we can deepen the experience and person of Jesus.

I encourage you all to find sometime in the busyness of your lives to reflect on Jesus' journey throughout Holy week. The students will present at assembly little prayer sessions to acknowledge this journey.

For all things at St Joseph’s, give thanks!

What are you grateful for this week?

How does my child receive a Principal's Award?

Class teachers nominate students for Blue Merit Awards and are presented at the weekly assembly.  When five Blue Merit Awards have been received, students send them to the school office to be recorded and are then eligible for a Principal’s Award. When students attain their 4th Principal Award, they are awarded a Principal’s Medallion at an assembly. End of Term awards can be included as part of the 5 awards.
