YR 7 Leadership
This week those Year 7s who were interested in undertaking a leadership position at Academy wrote, rehearsed and delivered their speeches to their fellow class mates. Students were either applying for Class Captain, Vice-Captain or Justice Captain.
It takes a great deal of courage to stand up in front of a group of their peers and put their case forward for why they should be elected. I congratulate everyone who accepted this challenge and I would encourage them to try again in second semester if they missed out this time around. I know the mentor teachers and I were really proud of the girls’ efforts. Congratulations to all those who were elected to the position of Class and Vice-Captain and to the position of Justice Captain.
Well done and I look forward to working with this leadership group throughout the semester.

NAPLAN
Year 7 parents have received correspondence about the upcoming NAPLAN testing. We held successful practice NAPLAN tests for Year 7 and 9 on March 2nd with the actual testing taking place between 15th and 23rd March.
There will be catch up running until 27th March for students who miss the test. Please ensure your child brings earphones and a charged laptop on the testing days. If your child has a learning diagnosis, they may be eligible for special provisions, please contact Trish Maguire, Learning Enhancement Team Leader if you think your child requires special provisions for NAPLAN.
