Play Therapy at St Kevin's!

Dear families

Our play therapy team at St Kevin's Primary School is growing! Laura Rosenberg, Waleska Parrino, Lisa Bradhurst, Jesse Velik and Jean Borg are warm, friendly and experienced play therapists offering one-on-one therapy, family play therapy and parent coaching. The team is currently taking bookings for  2022. If you think play therapy might benefit your child and family, please reach out for a chat with Laura.

Play Therapy is suitable for children aged 3-12 years and it can help children work through a range of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Whilst adults 'talk things out' to make sense of difficult feelings and challenging experiences, children are built to 'play things out' instead. So, instead of taking place in an office like talk therapy for adults, Play Therapy takes place in a playroom, filled with toys and other play materials, to help children express and explore themselves in the best way they know how - through play.

Play Therapy can help children and families address a range of issues, including; difficulties with friendships or managing big emotions, challenges with transitions and settling back into school, making sense of changes, increasing confidence and building self-esteem, strengthening parent-child and sibling relationships, managing anxiety and depression and healing from traumatic experiences.
