International Women's Day Breakfast

Embrace Equity

Yesterday we held our annual International Women's Day breakfast in the Upper LRC.

The morning was a huge success with a great turnout from our community. We gathered to embrace equity and listen to the experiences of our guest speaker, Sarah Newman, a respected Civil and Environmental Engineer from REMONDIS Australia.

Sarah's embrace of innovative practices in the waste and recycling sector, enhanced by her international experience, ably illustrates UN Women Australia's  International Women's Day theme of "Cracking the Code: Innovation for a gender equal future".

Sarah gave us a powerful reminder to back ourselves as women and girls, build teams with diversity and equity in mind and ensure we are surrounded by a supportive network.

Thanks to all the girls from Clayfield who spoke so eloquently and to Chloe and Sophie for playing and singing so beautifully. You did us proud!
