Class Updates and Reminders

Messages from our Learning Levels...

Prep

Reminders:

Wushka

Whilst we are unable to loan books from our class library, students should be accessing Wushka to practise their reading at home. Wushka offers a range of books which will help students to practise and apply both their high frequency word and phonics knowledge.

Teachers are monitoring student access to Wushka on a weekly basis.

You can access Wushka on https://wushka.com.au/login/ with the login sent by your child’s class teacher. Please get in touch if you have any issues.

School Uniform

As the year comes to a close we know how much our Prep students have grown! The Prep team is seeking any unwanted or outgrown school uniform for 2024 to support with any accidents that may occur. If you can support with any donations, please place them in your child's school bag. Any extra donations will be passed onto the school's second hand uniform shop.

Year 1

Reminders:

Library Books

Please make sure to return all library books at this time. If your child has any library books at home, kindly ensure their prompt return to the school.

Homework

As we approach the conclusion of the school year, we are confident that the Year 1cohort will successfully complete their homework routines. This consists of one Mathseeds lesson and four nights of 15-minute reading sessions. We appreciate your ongoing dedication at home to assist your child in maintaining a consistent homework routine. Thank you for your continued efforts.

Year 2

Reminders:

School Books Coming Home:

It would be greatly appreciated if your child could bring an additional bag to school to enable them to bring their work books home. This will ensure that their school bag does not becoming too heavy. This will be spaced out over the week, so it would be great if the additional bag could come to school each day. Your child is very excited to share their books with you.

Homework:

As the school year comes to an end, we know that the Year 2 cohort will finish strongly with their homework routines. This includes 1 lesson of Mathseeds and 4 nights of reading for 15 minutes. Thank you for your continued efforts at home to support your child with their homework routine.

We recommend over the holidays for your child to continue accessing Mathseeds and completing their reading. There are many rich lessons on Mathseeds and this is the last chance for students to complete them before transitioning to Mathletics in Year 3. Please ensure that your child continues to complete 1 lesson a week of Mathseeds. This will support your child with a positive homework routine while enjoying their holidays. If you have any opportunities for you and your child to visit your local library, this would be a wonderful way to continue accessing wonderful books over the holidays.

Year 3

Reminders:

Belongings Coming Home

During Week 11, your children will begin bringing home their belongings (school books, etc.). To support this process, please send along an additional bag so that your children are able to carry home their belongings. A reusable grocery bag will work perfectly.

Year 4

Reminders:

Library Books

All library books should now be returned. If your child still has any library books at home, please ensure they are returned to school

School Books Coming Home

Over the next week, students will be bringing home their school books that they have been completing their learning in. Please allow your child to share with you any work they are particularly proud of in their Curriculum Books.

Year 5

Reminders:

Workbooks

Next week, we will be sending home student workbooks that the students have been using throughout the year. With this in mind, it would be appreciated if students brought in an additional bag such as a shopping bag to carry these home in.
