Cricket Report

On Thursday 27 February Dave and Erin led the year 7 and 8 cricket teams over to Parker Reserve for the inter school cricket competition. Here are some student match reports.

Congratulations to the Year 7 and 8 Boys for winning through to the next round of interschool cricket.

Year 8 Boys

Recently the Coburg High School cricket team played 3 Super 8 cricket matches. Throughout the day everyone in the team was very encouraging towards one another. We won all the 3 games and got through to the next stage which is regionals. Everybody's batting and bowling efforts were outstanding and as pairs we did great batting partnerships. The highlight of the day was the second match where we batted first and made 96 runs. We were able to defend that total with our great bowling performances. The energy that we brought to the field lifted the team and that's how we were able to win.

Year 8 Girls

We were short 3 players but we still gave it a go. We competed against two teams from AIA and even though we were down 3 players we still gave it a go. We had fun and laughed a lot. AIA had 2 full teams. We went there and had fun but we lost to both teams, sadly.

Year 7 Boys

We had an amazing day with lots of massive sixes and heaps of wickets. Luckily our boys team no. 1 successfully won all of their games and got through to the next round. They had five near hat-tricks but none of them made the third time. Zach successfully achieved five wickets (two in one over), and the whole team did great.
