Peppa P and Milsy Y were recently presented with their AFL Under 18’s Calder Cannons jumpers. Both girls have once again been selected into this elite squad, and played round 1 Saturday 29th of February against the Northern Knights. This was a rematch of last year’s NAB League 2019 Grand Final.
Aubrey in the Victorian State Team
We asked Aubrey P (Year 12) to report on his recent State Track Cycling Championships results. Congratulations, Aubrey, on an amazing achievement.
On the 25th and 26th of February, many top Victorian track riders came together for the State Track Championships where 5 riders would be selected to represent the state of Victoria at the Nationals in Brisbane. I was successful in winning a spot on the Victorian team. The Mens U/19 Victorian State Track Team consists of myself and four other riders.
In the months leading up to state championship I spent days training from 7am to 5pm at the track with my coach and training close to 20 hours a week on the bike and in the gym to get in the best possible form leading up to State Track Championship.
Thanks to my hard work and the support of the people around me it all paid off when my times got me selected to be one of the five U/19's to wear the Victorian colours at the 2020 Track Nationals.
Currently due to the COVID - 19 virus Nationals has been postponed and the new date is yet to be determined, however I am still training hard and I am very keen to go and represent Victoria in Brisbane hopefully in the coming months.
