Religious Education

Last Sunday was a time for us all to pause, reflect and give thanks to God for the amazing women in our lives. The joy and energy that filled the hall last Friday morning was testament to this love and gratitude. Mother’s Day, whilst often a commercial marketing exercise, is a challenge to each of us to appreciate all that our mothers and women within our lives do. Mary, the mother of Jesus is our role model. Through the scriptures she is there quietly, steadfastly unconditionally in the background, loving her son Jesus. Mother’s Day can bring joy and can also be a sad day for many.
This quote is on my fridge at home in relation to my own mother-
‘ To the world you are someone, but to someone you are the world’ (Author anonymous)
Loving Father,
May we all appreciate and give thanks to you, for the women in our lives who are the world to us.
Lord Hear our Prayer
Year 1 Prayers in Pyjamas
On Wednesday night the library was filled with many excited Year 1 children in their Pyjamas ready to pray with their parents. These nights provide the opportunity for parents and their child/children to share a special time together centred around deepening their relationship with God and each other. The focus for the evening were the gifts and fruits of the holy Spirit, as Sunday’s reading is the story of Pentecost.
The families were invited to reflect of their God given gifts and fruits of the holy Spirit, sing in preparation for their upcoming Mass on Sunday and hear a scripture story through Godly Play.
The success of this night centres around the hard working staff and thank you to Miss Caitlin Liels, Miss Trees Menz, Mrs Irene Greenway, Mr Nigel Rodrigues and Mr Pat Berlingeri. We look forward to celebrating the Year 1 Mass with Father Ian on Sunday at 5pm. Everyone is warmly welcomed and encouraged to take home a cake from the stall afterwards for dessert.

We hope that the tubs in our classrooms will be full to the brim with your donations
Thank you to the students who have already brought in some supplies for the appeal! Your donations are greatly appreciated! We look forward to hearing Kevin from St Vincent de Paul, Brighton East Conference talking to us about this on Monday 21st May.
