Outside School Hours Care

Welcome

Enrolment

The OSHC is a separate entity to that of the school therefore subscribes to different legislation and regulations . For those that wish to attend then an OSHC enrollment record must be completed for each child. A copy can be found on the school website under the "Community" tab, at the office or at the service.

Administrative changes for OSCH

In an effort to allow parents to pay their OSHC fees in smaller, easy to manage payments, St Finbar’s OSHC will introduce Debit success.  It will offer parents an opportunity to nominate an account and appropriate day of payment. The service will pay certain fees and charges which are fair and equitable and in line with our current practices.  Please note that the dishonour fee relates to insufficient funds. Please see table below.

A direct debit request form is now available on the St Finbar’s school website-Community tab-OSHC. We hope to have all families compliant midterm 1.

Accounts due in 7 days

We had hoped to be up and running with the Direct Debit processing however a system failure in the gateway has unfortunately delayed this practice. We now kindly ask all families to revert back to the usual method of direct transfer using the details below. We hope to reset in readiness for the next fortnight cycle.

Thank you for your patience while we transition.

Reminder:  Changes to the 8 week rule

The Department has recently made one key amendment which has increased the number of weeks at which enrolments automatically cease due to non-attendance, from eight to 14 weeks.

This change will take effect from Monday, 13 January 2020.

After 13 weeks on non-usage, then the service will archive children’s enrolment records which then means families who wish to use the service on an adhoc basis must re-enrol by completing a new form.

Coronavirus outbreak

As many children are returning to education services this week, I know that the emerging outbreak of novel coronavirus may be a concern to staff, parents and children.

The Department of Health and Human Services has developed an Information for the education sector — novel coronavirus webpage to support you.

EMAIL NOT TO BE USED TO CHANGE DAILY ATTENDANCES

EMAIL TO BE USED for changing permanent bookings, making advanced bookings/cancellations  (ie holiday program, school closure days), account queries, addressing special needs, incidents that need clarification, and the like. Emails are not checked prior to a session as administrative duties are addressed off site and away from the service as our priority lies with the active supervision of children, their development and wellbeing.

Having said all of the above, if children ever find themselves confused, not knowing where they're supposed to be, please have a "back up plan" by stating they can always go to after care and together we can resolve their situation. This is an important aspect of children’s “belonging, being and becoming” which involves them learning independence, coping skills and OSHC Educators available  to children for support and to provide a secure base for children as needed.
