Year 11

If Year 11 students wish to discuss career options they are welcome to book an interview with Careers on the interview sheet outside the Careers Office.

 

Year 12

Please book in for a compulsory Careers Interview to discuss career pathways after Year 12. Please check your schedule to see an interview has been booked. Career Action Plans will be updated during a Wednesday morning Career Action Plan session run by the Careers Office. Career Action Plans will be viewed during the individual Year 12 Careers Interview.

 

Year 10

Work Experience for Year 10s will be held from Monday 22 June to Friday 26 June, 2020. Students need to explore websites and talk to family and friends of family about opportunities to do work experience. Students need to obtain placements by the end of term 1. Students will look at work experience options during Pathways classes. Students are welcome to come to the Careers Office to discuss Work Experience options.

 

Work Experience with Knox City Council

Are you a high school or tertiary student keen to learn about Council?

You can gain vital skills and knowledge through our work experience and student placement programs. Our short term placements are for Year 9 or Year 10 students up to two weeks.

Victoria Police Work Experience Program

Victoria Police offers placements to students who are enrolled at Victorian Secondary schools.*

Students must be a minimum of 15 years of age at the time of placement and completing Year 10 or above. Placements are only offered to those students studying Year 10, 11 or 12.

Placements are available from March until November each year. Placements outside these times will not be arranged.

Placements take place for one week only (5 consecutive business days). Placements cannot be scheduled during a week that contains a public holiday.

Nominations are to be submitted by careers teachers only. Each school can nominate one student per year. Schools with multiple campuses across various suburbs may nominate one student per campus.

University of Melbourne Faculty of Science Year 10 Work Experience

The Faculty of Science will offer work experience to Year 10 students between 22 – 26 June, 2020. We will provide students with a sample of activities that are part of a career in science including conducting experiments, attending seminars, collaborating with others on research projects, and presenting their own findings.

Students will discover what it is like to be a scientist by participating in interactive workshops and activities in a discipline of their choice. Participants will be able to enjoy meeting like-minded new friends and scientific role models, as well as get a taste of university life.

Applications for 2020 will open in February.

Work Experience with Woolworths Limited

If you are interested in completing work experience in one of our stores, you can approach the store of your choice directly with your request. A limited number of work experience students are accepted for short periods within our support office environments. To apply for a support office work experience position, you will need to submit your request in writing to the support office of the division you would like to work in.
