Carnivals and Interschool Sport

Welcome back to Koonung and sport in 2020. We are looking forward to another great year of teamwork, fun and individual/team achievements when representing Koonung.

Koonung conducts Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming Carnivals annually. These carnivals facilitate selection for representation in the State Schools Victoria (SSV) Eastern Zone carnivals. Sporting experiences include competions in badminton, basketball, netball, volleyball, cricket, table tennis, football, soccer, tennis, golf and hockey.  The first Interschool Sport competition for the year  commenced on Tuesday 11 February with Intermediate Cricket and Tennis.

It is important for all students to  keep an eye on Compass for sign ups and further information. Our first whole school event, the Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 21 February at Booroondara Sports Complex and commences at 9:15am. 

Please note that students are to either meet at the venue at 9.15am OR utilise pre-requested buses from school. If students wish to use buses to and from the College CONSENT MUST BE GIVEN on Compass to this event. This will enable us to book an appropriate number of buses for the day. Students who plan to make their own way to and from the venue do not require consent. All details relating to this event can be found on Compass. 

Sporting achievements outside the College 

If your child attains a sporting achievement outside of school, we would love to hear about it. We will endeavour to acknowledge these in assemblies and newsletters throughout the year.
