2019 Reflections

It has certainly been a memorable year for all students in 56H in 2019.  Their highlights have included: Swimming, Winter Sports, Lightning Premiership, Canberra Camp, Concert, Debating Festival, Table Tennis Tournament, School Fete, challenges in Numeracy and Literacy and learning new and interesting things in Art, Science and Music. I’ll remember this grade for their ability to cooperate and work together in all sorts of different situations.

 

While reflecting on our 2019 experiences, I asked 56H a range of questions and some of their responses are listed below.

 

What was the nicest thing someone in our class did for you this year?

“When I first came to this school, Tessa showed me around and helped me settle in” – Katelyn

“Jay helped me improve my sporting skills” – Zac

“A friend gave me a candy cane and wished me luck for next year” - Karli

 

Where is your favourite place in our classroom (or school)? Why?

“The Class Library because they have pillows and it’s comfortable” – Karli

“My classroom because most of the time it’s nice and quiet and sometimes that’s all people need” – Breanna

“My favourite place in the school is the Science Room because we get to learn more things and do fun experiments” – Matilda

“The Library because it has lots of great books” – Arthur

“Ms Sartoria’s Room because you can go in there at lunch and relax” – Adam

 

What is something that was hard for you at the start of the year but is easy now?

“Maths, especially addition and subtractions” – Katelyn

“Making new friends” – Noah

“Filing out my Earn & Learn Pay Sheet” – Zac

“Fractions were confusing at the start of the year but now they’re easy” – Chase

“Completing a Multiplication Grid in under 9 minutes” – Shianne

“Reading for longer periods of time” – Charlie

“Being able to talk in front of the class without feeling scared” – Breanna

 

What advice would you give students who will be in this class next year?

 “Keep your desk clean – it will make life a lot easier!” – Karli

 “Try your best and don’t ever give up” – Jade

 “Read a lot of books from our classroom library” – Declan

 “Never back down on one of life’s opportunities” – Matthew

 

56H described our year together as enjoyable, happy, hardworking, exciting, full-on, fantastic, interesting, creative, sporty, calming and energetic!
