Grevillea House
Welcome to the 2021 school year!
My name is Emma Chatham and I am the Grevillea House Leader following the retirement of Vicky Argyropoulos. I am excited to be a part of Grevillea and to lead the House.
I would like to introduce the Grevillea House Leadership Team for 2021. Our new House Attendance Officer, Ms Marianne-Souris, will be begin with us very soon.
It has been a wonderful start to the year, with many positive reports from teachers congratulating students on their focus on learning and eagerness to engage in school life in 2021. We have kept up our wall that celebrates the students’ achievements in learning and participation; it is great to see so many names there already.
So far, Years 7 to 10 have been involved in assemblies, considered learnings from last year, and set goals for the year to come.
We have also finished the SRC and House Captain election process, and look forward to formally welcoming our representatives at the Badges Assembly. We thank all students who participated in this.
Year 7 Welcome
We had a wonderful week of welcome for our Grevillea Year 7 students. The Year 7s participated in a House Challenge Competition; Grevillea students had a fantastic time on the day, participated well and won many events. And in fact we won the competition on the day – awesome work! GO, GREVILLEA!
The Lysterfield welcome excursion was moved due to the weather but students enjoyed the time at the late and returned looking happy and a bit worn out from their adventures.
The Year 7s have begun making their House space their own, decorating it with information about themselves.
We would like to thank all Grevillea students for a positive start to the year. While news of the recent lockdown was a challenge, students remained calm, asked good questions and took home materials to support their learning when they returned.
We look forward to meeting our Year 7 parents when we are able and showing our House Spirit at upcoming events.
